7th Mercosur Biennial

I visited the last day of the 7th Mercosur Biennial. I loved everything! Very beautiful. It was an excellent ride.

How the West could learn from Lula's way of playing politics.

How the West could learn from Lula's way of playing politics. As much as Washington was visibly annoyed, it could do nothing to prevent Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from visiting Brazil's President Lula as part of his 5-country African and South American tour. Feathers could not but be ruffled, argues Pepe Escobar, at the sight of closer cooperation between the biggest Latin American regional power and one of the Middle East's top regional powers. The warm embrace Lula ofered Ahmadinejad will echo across the developing world as a sign that South/South diplomacy play may have more merits than the heavy-handed US/European approach.

History of Halloween

The day of Halloween began long ago with the rituals surrounding the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.
The Celtic New Year was celebrated on November 1. The New Year was the Celtic end of harvest holiday, and the start of the dark winter. Winter was often equated with death, because of winter's harsh effect on people of the time. Because of this association, the ancient Celts believed that during the night before the New Year, the veil between the worlds of the dead and the living was thinned. Halloween is not traditional in Brazil. It seems very fun.
